Huntley High School’s Bass Fishing Team, representing the “Red Raiders” of Huntley, IL, has carved out a reputation as one of Northern Illinois’s solid competitive programs. The team competes in the Fox Valley Conference, a conference known for high athletic and extracurricular standards, and has regularly qualified for IHSA Sectionals and beyond
One of Huntley’s standout performances occurred in the 2020–21 IHSA Sectional, where their #2 boat set a sectional record with a five-fish weight of 13 lb 8 oz, and angler Lucas Wojnicki claimed Big Bass with a 3 lb 3.2 oz catch.
In the 2016 Unified Division State Finals at Carlyle Lake, Huntley earned a 3rd–place team finish, during the inaugural Unified Bass Fishing State Series designed to include Special Olympics athletes
Across competitive seasons, Huntley anglers have shown consistency and sportsmanship while qualifying for state-level competition in both standard and unified divisions. Their success reflects the school’s broader commitment to inclusive athletics and competitive excellence. We’re proud to support a program that brings dedication, diversity, and real on-the-water results to the world of high school fishing.

The Wauconda High School Bass Fishing Team continues to prove they’re a rising force in Illinois high school fishing. In 2025, the team earned a strong 3rd place finish in the NLCC Conference, followed by a 6th place finish at Regionals, and a solid 9th place showing at Sectionals, demonstrating consistent success throughout the postseason.
On top of their team accomplishments, Wauconda made a huge impact in the Unified Division, taking home both 1st place and runner-up honors in 2025, after already securing 1st place in the division in 2024. Their dedication to inclusion, development, and competitive success makes them a standout program on and off the water.

Representing the Rockets, Burlington Central High School fields a promising bass fishing program in Illinois’s competitive Fox Valley Conference. The team is relatively new to the sport, but has been steadily building momentum thanks to strong commitment and rapid growth in postseason competition.
During the 2024–25 ICASSTT Season, Burlington Central ranked among the top schools in the state, accumulating an impressive 1,803 points in the Team of the Year standings, highlighting their consistency and success across the expanded ICASSTT series
. The Rockets have also maintained postseason presence in IHSA circuit events, consistently qualifying for both Regional and Sectional championships and improving their competitive standing year over year.
Burlington Central emphasizes not only performance but also teamwork, sportsmanship, and program development. From investing in inclusive participation to supporting rookie anglers, the team exemplifies the values of growth and community.

South Elgin High School’s Bass Fishing Team, competing under the Storm banner, has become a respected name in northern Illinois high school fishing. As part of the Upstate Eight Conference, the team regularly qualifies for IHSA Sectionals, showcasing a strong blend of talent and teamwork. In recent seasons, South Elgin boats have earned multiple top finishes, including a standout 3rd-place finish at Busse Woods Sectionals, weighing in over 8 pounds against tough competition.
The team’s success is fueled by dedicated anglers who train year-round and bring both focus and enthusiasm to every event. South Elgin places a strong emphasis on skill development and competitive growth, helping their students advance both on and off the water.

Formerly the team captain of the Burlington Central High School Bass Fishing Team, Ben now represents the University of Pikeville on their collegiate fishing team.

Known for their strong teamwork and complementary fishing styles, Jace and Memphis have developed a reputation as a powerhouse team that consistently performs when it matters most.
Their tournament record speaks for itself, highlighted by being crowned the 2025 ICASSTT Junior State Champions, along with 8 first-place victories and 12 top three finishes. The twins have also proven their ability to locate and land quality fish under pressure, combining for an impressive 6 Big Bass awards. Individually, Memphis has also stood out on the competitive stage, earning an outstanding 2nd place finish in the Clinton Lake Singles Angler of the Year standings.

With years of experience on the water, she has become known not only for her tournament success, but also for the positive impact she continues to make within the fishing world. Whether competing against top anglers or helping grow the sport behind the scenes, Susie brings the same drive and commitment to everything she does.
Her leadership roles speak volumes about her dedication to the fishing community. Susie is the Owner and President of KBL, serves as Vice President of the Illinois Bass Nation Kayak Series, and is an active member of the Women’s Fishing Federation, where she also serves as the Safety and Education Coordinator. Through these positions, she has helped create opportunities for anglers, strengthen local clubs, and promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who share a passion for fishing.
As a tournament competitor, Susie regularly fishes regional kayak events, constantly refining her skills and adapting to new waters and changing conditions.
